January 4, 2018 was a day of both sorrow and great joy. Frances Karakoosh Hazen
born on May 14, 1923 left this life to join her husband of 68 years, Robert M. Hazen, her mother Sophie Boyadjian Karakoosh , her father George Karakoosh, and the other family and friends who have gone before. She is survived by her two sons, Gregory J.K. Hazen and his wife Cecelia Hazen and Bruce M.K. Hazen, and his wife Hope Hazen, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Now she can prepare and share the recipes of all the great chefs with her friends in the Kitchen Irregulars.
She will be with her piano teacher, and all her Julliard classmates to play all the great music she so much loved and admired.
She and her friends in the Trowel Club can plant, appreciate, and arrange beautiful displays of flowers.
She and her friends in the Traveller’s Club can actually ask James Joyce what he was trying to say in his writings.
To those of us she left behind, we will certainly remember and share our stories of her with each other. Her dry wit, contagious laugh, and those glances she could shoot across a room with deadly accuracy. In these memories she will always continue to be a part of our lives.
