was born in Morristown, NJ on September 26, 1966 to Dorothy and Rayford Griffin and went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2017. Dorothy and Rayford loved Donna and she returned that love by helping to take of her mother as she grew older. Dorothy would often call Donna her secretary as Donna made sure her bills were in order and made sure that any miscellaneous situation that needed to be handled was handled. Donna grew up in Morristown and attended elementary school, middle school, and high school, eventually graduating from Morristown High School in 1984. Donna was a vibrant student, who loved school and before going home to be with the Lord, continued her education by taking online classes and completing a few of them.
A few years after graduating from high school, Donna met a man named Wardell Corbin and they had two beautiful children together; their son Wardell Corbin Jr. and daughter, Annice Corbin,, who they loved dearly. Donna loved her children with all her heart, no matter what. Her eyes would light up with joy when speaking about them. Even in hard times she loved them unconditionally and would not give up on them or wanting to be with or near them because those were Donna’s babies. Donna’s daughter Annice blessed her with a granddaughter, Avaih, who Donna also loved unconditionally and cherished dearly. She was so much in love with her granddaughter that she spoke of her constantly and had pictures of her everywhere she could keep them. Avaih brought Donna joy, hope and an endless amount of smiles.
Donna also loved her sister Lori Griffin, who she labeled as her best friend. Donna loved her sister Lori with all her heart. They would spend an endless amount of time speaking on the phone with each other when they could not physically get to each other. While on the phone they would watch television, while joking and laughing with each other. From sharing secrets to sharing clothes to sharing laughter and undeniable love, they were inseparable and much more then sisters, but again they were best friends. Lori had two sons that Donna also loved very much, Tyquan and Tyshaun Griffin. Donna would often tell her nephews, family, and friends how proud she was of her nephews and the men they have become. She would tell them to stay on the right path and to chase their dreams no matter what because she knew that they were going to be “somebody” in this world.
Donna was a loving soul who would give you her last, but if she could not give you her last, she would point you in the direction where you could get help. Donna would go out of her way to show you where to go and what to do if you needed help. By the time she was done, the need that you once had would be filled with not only what you needed but, so much more. And the whole time she was helping you, you had to see her infectious smile and hear her infectious laugh.
Donna’s lovable and helpful ways, kind heart and beautiful smile will be greatly missed. Her memory will forever be in our hearts. Donna leaves behind to keep her memory alive; her mother, Dorothy Griffin, Morristown, NJ, one sister, Lori Griffin, Morristown, NJ, two children Wardell Corbin Jr. and Annice Corbin, Morristown, NJ, one granddaughter Avaih Corbin, Morristown, NJ, two nephews Tyquan and Tyshaun Griffin, Morristown, NJ and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who were all dear to her.
