Elizabeth Cooper Strong
of Morristown, NJ. transitioned peacefully at home on June 21, 2017 with her family at her bedside. She was 87. Born October 15, 1929 in Hertford, NC. to the late Lemuel and Virgie Gallop.
Elizabeth retired from Pfizer, Morris Plains (formerly Warner Lambert), after 23 years of dedicated service. She was a former Past Worthy Matron Naomi Chapter No. 2 Order of Eastern Star, Newark, N.J. and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Morristown.
Preceding her in death husband Joseph Ellis Cooper Sr., son Joseph Ellis Jr., daughter Valerie Cooper and her second husband John "Country" Strong.
Leaving to cherish her memories are daughters Virgie (Ernest) Watkins, Plano, Texas; Vivian, Morristown; son Donald (Kathy) Raleigh, N.C., brother Tom (Cathy) Gallup Scotch Plains, N.J., and 5 grandchildren Jolana Brewton, Jarod Cooper, Jamar Locket, Janelle Locket, Candace Cooper and 6 great-grandchildren.
